We sell clothing from many different designers and sizing can vary a great deal. The best way to determine what size will work for you is to take a piece of your own clothing that fits you well, lay it on a flat surface (your bed will work great for this) and take a few measurements. For best results choose an item from your own closet that is a similar style and material as the item you are shopping for.
For Shirts Jackets and Vests (with garment lying flat):
1. Chest: Measure 1" under the armpit, side to side 2. Length: Measure from the top edge, next to the neck opening, to the bottom edge of garment 3. Sleeve Length: If your item has sleeves, measure from the shoulder seam to the bottom edge of the sleeve
For Pants and Skirts (with garment lying flat):
1. Waistband: Measure just below the top edge of the pants from side to side 2. Length: Measure from the top edge on one side to the bottom edge on that side. 3. Rise: Measure in the center of the pants from the top edge to the bottom of the crotch. (skirts do not have this measurement)
* A note about waist bands -- For items with elastic waistbands we post the "lying flat" measurement and the "Maximum Stretch" measurement as well. To obtain the maximum stretch measurement we lie the garment flat and stretch the waistband as far as it will go.
* A note about very stretchy/fishnet items and tights. Their "lying flat" measurements are often very small. We post "maximum stretch" measurements of these items as well to give you a better idea how they will fit. Items of this type are usually meant to fit very snugly, like a second skin.
We measure all the items on our site this same way to make it easy for you to get an accurate idea of the size of the clothes. Choose the size from our site that best matches the measurements of the garment you chose.
